CHAIR

Mr. James Hollywood is a member of Bridging Hope for the Future, Inc. Board of Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology/ Pre-Law and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and Human Resource Management from Arkansas State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Strategic Communication with an emphasis in Policy and Law and a Ph.D. in Public Policy with an emphasis in Leadership and Nonprofit Management.

 

James is a dynamic leader that is motivated with a heart to serve. He has diverse experiences in education, law, policy, recruitment, job development, job placement, and overseeing organizational functions. He is highly skilled at strategic and organizational planning and management. James is also adept at coordinating the multi-task levels of responsibilities. He has a plethora of experience in leadership roles.  

 

Mr. Hollywood leads and volunteers in many organizations throughout Jonesboro. He serves on the board for the American Red Cross and the Jonesboro University Rotary Club.

As a board member, his duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions. Mr. Hollywood receives no compensation of any kind for his duties as a board member. His duties are performed on a willful, as needed basis.

CO-CHAIR

Mr. Clay Turner is a member of Bridging Hope for the Future, Inc. Board of Directors. Clay is a graduate of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service. During his time there, he built his foundation in LGBTQ advocacy, through his work with the UK-based LGBT Consortium and AsylumConnect, a national organization that assists LGBT asylum seekers. Based in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Clay spends his days connecting with customers over coffee at Starbuck’s and writing realistic LGBT fiction novels. As a board member, his duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions. Mr. Turner receives no compensation of any kind for his duties as a board member. His duties are performed on a willful, as needed basis.

Treasurer

Ms. Whitney Carter is a member of Bridging Hope for the Future, Inc. Board of Directors. She is an educator at Forrest City High School in Forrest City, AR where she has been an educator the past four years. She enjoys and is passionate about educating future leaders. Whitney is a Fellow in the Arkansas Teacher Corps educational program, and a Fellow in the Rural School Leadership Academy. She holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Arkansas State University and a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Capella University. Whitney is currently working on a Doctoral Degree in Business from Capella University. 

 

Ms. Carter is a National Certified Financial Planner. Additionally, she holds certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist and is proficient in QuickBooks. Whitney also serves as the Chair of Arkansas Early Learning Policy Council, where she assists in the policy making and compliance for the organization. In her spare time, Whitney uses her educational expertise by volunteering to serve struggling scholars. As a board member, her duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions. Ms. Carter receives no compensation of any kind for her duties as a board member. Her duties are performed on a willful, as needed basis.

Leaundra Sanders is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and a 2006 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She holds a Master's Degree in Higher Education-Student Affairs from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 

 

She holds memberships in The Junior League of Little Rock, National Association of University Women, The National Urban League-Young Professionals, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, as well as St. Mark Baptist Church. 

 

Her career has always surrounded being of service to others. She was a long term employee of Jefferson Comprehensive Care System, Inc, Ryan White Part D, as a Case Manager for Women and Girls infected with HIV/AIDS. She then continued on to serve as a Counselor for girls at the Little Rock Job Corps. Ms. Sanders provided case management services for girls aged 16-24 that were considered below poverty level, underprivileged, and in need of a high school diploma. She is currently employed at the Clinton Presidential Center, Clinton Graduate School of Public Service, Center on Community Philanthropy as the Senior Administration Fiscal Director. She is also an employment coach at the OURHOUSE shelter for the working homeless.

Leaundra has developed and hosts an array of community events, such as debutante cotillions, etiquette workshops for women of all ages, and she is a gifted fundraiser. Leaundra is a highly sought after public speaker and has completed the Non-Profit Board Member Certification. She believes that, "Good things come to those that wait, but only whats left over from those that work."

Mrs. Towina M. Jones is a member of Bridging Hope for the Future, Inc. Board of Directors. She is CEO & Founder of Towina M. Jones, LLC, which was formally established in 2014. Mrs. Jones is a devoted wife and mother, a licensed minister, author, coach, counselor, dynamic speaker, and thriving breast cancer survivor. Mrs. Jones believes that “Every day is a day of victory” and “You can overcome every obstacle every time.” 

 

Over the years, Towina has committed her time and energy to work in various social service, counseling, and educational capacities. She is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mrs. Jones has a vested interest in improving the overall quality of life for individuals and families. She is a graduate of several higher learning institutions. Towina holds two Educational Specialists Degrees and plans to pursue a Doctoral Degree in the near future. Her current work is focused on helping others move from surviving to thriving. Mrs. Jones currently serves on the board of ParentLink and Word Outreach Incorporated.   

Her knowledge of individuals and families, as well as her extensive work in various social service, counseling, educational, and other servant leadership capacities, will serve her well as a member of the board. Advisor

Ms. Rachel Barber is a member of Bridging Hope for the Future, Inc. Board of Directors. She holds a Master's degree in Education. Where she resides in St. Louis Missouri, as an Inclusion Specialist at United 4 Children. She has been working in Early Childhood Education (ECE) since 2003. “All children can and deserve to learn, it is our job to learn the language in which they need to be taught.” Is her personal philosophy. Rachel has spent most of her years working in non-profit, or Head Start Centers. She is currently working on her Ph.D. at Saint Louis University, in St Louis Mo; with a focus on Educational Leadership. Rachel received her Master’s of Education from Central Methodist University in 2012, and her Bachelor of Science in Child Development in 2007. Her goal is to become an Early Childhood Education Professor. As well as, or instead of, she would like to continue to be a consultant and train other ECE practitioners to be the best they can. Rachel is passionate about supporting all families, and communities and connecting them to resources to help them thrive. Rachel’s areas of expertise include ECE curriculum, Infant Massage, and Practice-Based Coaching. Rachel loves baking, and poetry, and is an avid writer.
